Home / Services / Evolve Stone

Real stone character.
Without the mortar.

Evolve Stone® is the first stone veneer that face-nails like siding. We install it on Florida exteriors and fireplaces — no mortar, no lath, no scratch coat, no cure time.

The service

Stone that installs
like siding.

Traditional stone veneer is a masonry job: wire lath, scratch coat, mortar, cure time, and a wall built heavy enough to carry it. Evolve Stone throws that process out. Each piece weighs roughly 2 lbs per square foot and is face-nailed with a finish nailer — the same way we hang siding.

It's a solid-core material with colour infused all the way through, so it cuts on site with a miter saw and the cut edge still looks like stone. Evolve Stone reports installs up to 10× faster than traditional veneer.

Two ways we use it

Exteriors and fireplaces.

These are the two applications where Evolve Stone earns its keep — and they're built two different ways.

Stone veneer wainscot under board and batten siding on a home exterior

01Exterior

Facades and wainscot, porch and entry columns, gable accents, chimney chases, outdoor kitchens and lanai walls. Built over a code-compliant weather-resistant barrier and Evolve Rainscreen — the drainage and ventilation layer that keeps the wall breathing.

That assembly is what backs the 50-year system warranty, and it's the same moisture-management discipline we apply on every siding job.

02Fireplaces

Indoor surrounds floor to ceiling, and outdoor fireplaces on covered lanais. Interior work is simpler: no barrier or rainscreen needed — the stone nails directly to wood sheathing.

Around a firebox we specify Evolve Stone's fire-rated material, which is the manufacturer's own recommendation for fireplace and kitchen applications.

Why it holds up here

Tested against
a Florida wall.

Most of what kills an exterior in this state is water, salt and wind. Evolve Stone is tested and certified against all three.

01Moisture impermeable

The material doesn't hold water against the structure — the failure mode that rots framing behind conventional veneer.

02Salt spray

Unaffected by salt spray, tested to ASTM B117. That matters within a few miles of the Atlantic.

03Wind loading

Tested to ASTM E330 for structural performance under wind load — a real consideration every hurricane season.

04UV resistant

Colour is infused throughout the material rather than sprayed on a face, so Florida sun has far less to fade.

05No structural work

At about 2 lbs per square foot there's no footing, no grade beam, no stone ledge and no engineered tie-backs.

06Fire-rated option

Available in fire-rated and non-rated material, with ICC-ES evaluation reports covering both.

Styles

Five styles.
Six colours.

Every style comes in the full colour range, and tones can be mixed across collections — so the wall ends up specific to your house rather than pulled off a shelf.

01Georgetown Run

The most stately of the line, inspired by the historic Georgetown district in Washington, D.C. Stones vary in both height and length for a rich, hand-laid look.

02National True

Linear and uniform — a scaled-down monumental appearance with a classic feel. The fastest style to install, and the current fan favourite.

03Capital Sky

A blend of 2″ and 4″ tall stones in varying lengths. Textured faces with clean edges give a mixed-format pattern that reads bold and contemporary.

04District View

Sleek and contemporary, with varied stone lengths and depths. The shorter overall size makes it the right pick for smaller areas and tight details.

05Monument Gate

Large-format hand-cut look in bold 8″ blocks up to 20″ long. Strong, stately and full of texture — the most dramatic of the five.

Colour range

Phantom Shadow, Morning Aspen, Kodiak Mine, Dune Point, Afternoon Vale and River Clay — mix and match across any collection.

Common questions

What people ask
before they commit.

Does it actually look like real stone? +
The colour runs through the material instead of sitting on the surface, and the faces carry real depth and texture rather than a repeating printed pattern. Because it's solid core, a piece cut on site still reads as stone on the cut edge — which is usually where imitation products give themselves away.
How does it handle Florida weather? +
It's moisture impermeable, UV resistant, unaffected by salt spray and tested for performance under wind loading. On exteriors it goes over a code-compliant weather barrier and the Evolve Rainscreen drainage mat, which is also what qualifies the assembly for the 50-year system warranty.
Can it go around a fireplace? +
Yes, and it's one of the most common requests. Interior installs nail straight to wood sheathing with no barrier or rainscreen. Around a firebox we use the fire-rated version of the material, which is what the manufacturer recommends for fireplace and kitchen applications.
How long does the job take? +
There's no mortar and no cure time, so nothing waits on anything. Evolve Stone reports installs running up to ten times faster than traditional veneer, and there are no temperature or weather restrictions on when it can go up.
Can you combine it with my siding? +
That's the most common way we sell it. Stone on the base course, columns or gable with fiber cement above — one crew, one schedule, one warranty conversation, instead of coordinating a separate mason.

Our process

From bare wall
to finished stone.

Start at step one

Consultation & layout

We walk the property, mark exactly where stone earns its keep, and set the scope — exterior, fireplace, or both.

Style & colour

One of the five styles, in a colour blend chosen against your existing siding, trim and paint so the whole elevation reads as one design.

Wall assembly

Exteriors get a code-compliant weather barrier and Evolve Rainscreen. Interiors nail direct to sheathing. This is the step the warranty depends on.

Installation

Face-nailed and cut on site with woodworking tools. Corners mitered, tucked or pre-fabricated, and pitched sills set to drain water away from the wall.

Final walkthrough

We walk the finished wall with you line by line. The project closes when you say it's right — not before.

Ready when you are

Let's give your property the exterior it deserves.
